Hi Momi,

AFAIK, there is no setting that will help.

Is the device behind a NAT?
Does gnugk think that the device is behind a NAT (it shows both
public and private IP addresses in RCF message)?

If one answer is yes and the other no, you should resolve that
issue first.

If the answer to both questions is no, then gnugk should
send the RTP automatically (assuming, of course, that RTP
is coming in from the destination gateway).

If the answer to both questions is yes, it is normal for
gnugk to not send RTP until it receives some. Otherwise,
it wouldn't know what port to send it to (and the NAT association
is not present anyhow). You can do any of these:
1. Get rid of the NAT if not needed (only one device on the DSL)
and the DSL does not require PPPoE, etc.
2. Use a smarter NAT that proxies the H.323 correctly.
3. Put a proxy device (e.g. another gnugk) at the DSL location.
4. Get a phone that sends RTP during Progress.

If you set up port forwarding on the NAT for the RTP packets,
it might be possible to get gnugk to send RTP to the device's
public IP, but use the port number from the logical channel
negotiation. Sorry, I don't know if this can be done with a
configuration option, or if you would need to modify the code.
Perhaps one of the developers can answer this.
