Hello, I am trying to communicate a Cisco IP Phone with has
a static NAT with an endpoint with public IP, both registered in the
Gatekeeper. In order to communicate both endpoints the GK switch to GK Proxy
mode but it is only possible to listen the voice in the endpoint with public
IP. After checking the traces with Ethereal I have seen
that the Cisco IP Phone used a source port (name as A) to send the packets
different than the destination port that it negotiated to receive the packets.
So due to this, the GK Proxy, thinks that the NAT of the endpoint is changing
the port and the GK Proxy starts sending the packets to the port A instead
sending to the one they negotiated. The result is that the Cisco Phone, with expects the
packets in the port they negotiated receive the packets into other port (the
one the Cisco phone uses as source port). Who is not working properly here?. It is supposed
that the source port for RTP must be the destination port as well??. Using OpenPhone all works propertly because it uses
the same source port for sending RTP packets than the destination port port
receiving RTP packets. Any idea of how to solve this?
