That wouldn't be very efficient. You would use (expensive) ressources
without need. Why not start routing to the  gateway with the highest
priority (i.e. least cost, ...) and then try one after another. Then you
would just use one channel a time and would also be able to support priority
routing. 
To speed up the routing/gateway selection process you could set a
configurable timer for each routing attempt. Like this you wouldn't have to
wait for a RELEASE COMPLETE from a gateway (which might take quite a long
time depending on the actual state of a device) but could jump to the next
possible gateway after a view seconds.
