I don't know what your situation is but if maximum performance is an
issue I would think that using radius would be better as some of the
work is shifted over to another machine. For only a few calls it won't
make much difference but if you have many simultaneous calls I think it
could have an impact. Also, if you have multiple gnugk or other servers
then it is better to use radius so only the collection server needs to
open connections to mysql.
