it's a little progrm called "Daemontools" we have enountered when we worked
with Qmail.  you can goto www.qmail.com to get it.

Yes, there must be some sort of issue with gnugk not releasing extended
memories after its usage.  That's why I'm thinking if there's anything
to do with threading in this problem.  (Correct me if I'm wrong, for
I'm not an expert in this area)

It happened to me once where the Gnugk stops responding and killed its
own process.  There were no indications (both the system logs and gnugk
log) on why it terminated its own process, but this only happened to me
once.

Raymond, I'm just wondering about your restart script on the gnugk, are
you simply writing a script to monitor the gnugk process based on
Cron??  Or are you using some other daemon to monitor and restart gnugk
when it is down?!?!  If a daemon is used, which one are you using?!?
