There should be a message, that the application has registered with GNOME's accessibility framework. You need to activate this in your Gnome settings. However, in order to do this, I had to install a gail-module and some libraries (atk and at-spi IIRC). Maybe an easy way to achieve this is to install and run gnopernicus, this program asks if it should enable the appropriate settings. /Roman
