I completely agree.  And what you have on Debian is an *old* GNOME - it
just keeps getting better.  Version 3.8 was a real milestone in speed
and features and then 3.10 just piled on more awesome.

That is the nature of the interwebz;  the Internet has a powerful
negative bias [unless you can afford to pay a legion of online warriors
to counter it, which Open Source can never do].  Things are rarely as
bad as they seem, one just needs to read lists and forms via a reality
de-distortion filter which removes 9 of every 10 nattering posts.
