I frequently get asked to switch Git back to English when the "LANG=C" gets lost, because my coworkers and myself - almost all of which are native German speakers - are terribly confused by the current git gui translations. Having said that, no matter how this vote turns out the term "submodule" should be translated as "Submodul" and not "Unterprojekt".
