Thanks > god I am mostly out of here. > thanks god you are somewhat back! there is a lack of accountability lately, that same god knows that i am the wrong person to file bug reports and such -- however, bugs get closed for no good reason and talking to the developers in either camp (gtk or gimp) is like talking to that escher drawing of one hand drawing the other. not so pretty as that tho. back when the developer mail was full of flame wars (mostly between germans, btw) the gimp was fast and did the job really well. now it looks and feels good but is broken for anyone trying to work with it logically. i think even jimmac broke down and got a movie of how long it takes to open a busy directory. rumors of nautilus changing selections and deleting things as well, during that long long opening a directory process. bug reports just get closed. something is very wrong, and it shouldnt be. carol
