Hi there gimp-devel types, Its come to my attention that not everyone was aware that we're trying out bugs.gnome.org for our bug tracking needs. The reasons for this are: 1) I'm tired of the wilberworks tracker. It was painful. 2) Gnome.bugs.org is setup and working. 3) I'd rather do other stuff than tend a bug database. I realize these aren't terribly impressive qualifications, and if others have something to contribute feel free. Anyway, the easy way to submit bug reports is through Xach's form at http://www.xach.com/gimp/news/bugreport.html The almost-as-easy way is to follow the instructions for users on http://bugs.gnome.org/Reporting.html Use a Package: Gimp and an appropriate Version: (1.1.9 or whatever). The main thing that doesn't seem terribly well covered in the instructions that we like to have is platform information - i.e. what kind of system is giving particular errors. To browse reports, go to http://bugs.gnome.org/db/pa/lgimp.html To reply to a report, send an email to NNNN@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx where NNNN is the number of the report. It won't include any previous text, so if you'll have to include it in the email yourself. If you want the tracker to send the original message to you, send a message to request@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'send NNNN' in the body. There's lots of options for the request feature for those curious. To close a report, send an email to NNNN-done@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx where NNNN is the number of the report. The body of your text will be sent to the originator as the reason it is getting closed. There's a whole slew of other stuff you can do with it that I won't cover here. Read http://bugs.gnome.org/ to find out more. Note: All the URLs except Xach's are accessible from the front page of http://bugs.gnome.org if you look hard enough. Happy bug tracking, Seth sjburges@xxxxxxxx
