http://docs.gimp.org/2.6/en/gimp-images-in.html Look at Figure 5.2 with the black and white image. The caption reads as follows: "An image in Grayscale mode, with the channel corresponding to Luminosity." Please verify that "Luminosity" is the correct word. The word is presented without further context, and immediately follows a discussion of the alpha channel. My opinion is that it is the correct word, but if so, I should work the word into the previous section, which reads as follows: "In a grayscale image, each point is represented by a brightness value, ranging from 0 (black) to 255 (white), with intermediate values representing different levels of gray." It will be easy for me to use the word "luminosity" in this context. -- Andrew Pitonyak My Macro Document: http://www.pitonyak.org/AndrewMacro.odt My Book: http://www.hentzenwerke.com/catalog/oome.htm Info: http://www.pitonyak.org/oo.php See Also: http://documentation.openoffice.org/HOW_TO/index.html _______________________________________________ Gimp-docs mailing list Gimp-docs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-docs
