You can pass the '--debug' option to dblatex. e.g. make [-f Makefile.GNU] pdf-en DBLATEXEXTRAFLAGS='--debug' 2>&1 \ | tee log/en-pdf.log Then the temporary directory won't be removed (and the "tee" command saves the output) and you can check the TeX and log files.
