-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 | The current ChangeLog in gegl CVS seems pretty much standard to | me. What format would you prefer? | It isn't. The standard format is: YYYY-MM-DD Firstname Lastname <email@address> Block of text * changed/file/1 * changed/file/2 * changed/file/3 More Text Now, in both emacs and vi, if this format is followed, then the date, name, email addres, text and changed file list all get different syntax coloring. Basically all spaceing is important except the space between the first and last name, carriage returns after the first line, and spaces in the text blocks and file names (in particular the space between the * and the file name is important. Most of the entries are: DayNmae MonthName Hour:Minute:Second TimeZone Year email@address block of text *changed/file/1 *changed/file/2 About the only thing that gets parsed correctly there by either emacs or vi is the block of text. I am willing to bet that there exist web scripts that won't parse it either. Mostly I just don't see any reason to make it difficult for people. I really think that changeing the changelog is probably a better idea, but that also bugs me because I think a changelog should be fairly immutable, and it is over 5000 lines, so the conversion would be . . . . difficult. - -- Dan -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQE/xi19ad4P1+ZAZk0RAqZvAJ9ucZqJZxfRTG66IZQP7luYltR4ogCeMZWM a66Ir/MpeHT/d42w8NBqOGk= =LrzY -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
