He has actually said he doesn't mind if the /compile/ time is months, or even years!

They are asking here about how to get the compiler to successfully
compile the code, not how to make the compiled code faster.


Yes - with an emphasis on wanting to persuade GCC to compile his generated code, rather than on wanting to generate code that can be compiled by GCC.
