While in stage 1 bootstrap on Solaris 10 Sparc I see :

.
.
.
checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no
Links are now set up to build a native compiler for sparc64-sun-solaris2.10.
checking for exported symbols... /usr/local/build/gcc-4.8.0-RC-20130316/gcc/configure: line 27240: objdump: command not found
yes
checking for -rdynamic... /usr/local/build/gcc-4.8.0-RC-20130316/gcc/configure: line 27250: objdump: command not found
no
checking for library containing dlopen... none required
checking for -fPIC -shared... yes
configure: WARNING: cache variable gcc_cv_sun_ld_ver contains a newline
configure: updating cache ./config.cache
.
.
.

etc etc.

I would not expect objdump on Solaris as that is part of Linux binutils.
Perhaps there is a better choice on Solaris to get the data needed?
