The vesa driver doesn't work properly (although the default cirrus driver works fine). For testing, I use the following 4-line xorg.conf: Section "Device" Identifier "Videocard0" Driver "vesa" EndSection X starts up, then crashes, then restarts, in a loop. The following shows up in Xorg.0.log: Backtrace: [ 1511.080] 0: /usr/bin/Xorg (xorg_backtrace+0x2d) [0x482ebd] [ 1511.080] 1: /usr/bin/Xorg (0x400000+0x52b96) [0x452b96] [ 1511.080] 2: /lib64/libc.so.6 (0x32b9a00000+0x340e0) [0x32b9a340e0] [ 1511.080] 3: /usr/lib64/libpixman-1.so.0 (pixman_image_set_has_client_clip+0x0) [0x32c4e1a6b0] [ 1511.080] 4: /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/libfb.so (0x7f31bf3de000+0x133ef) [0x7f31bf3f13ef] [ 1511.080] 5: /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/libfb.so (fbComposite+0x101) [0x7f31bf3f17a5] [ 1511.080] 6: /usr/bin/Xorg (0x400000+0xabe66) [0x4abe66] [ 1511.080] 7: /usr/bin/Xorg (0x400000+0xa6b6d) [0x4a6b6d] [ 1511.080] 8: /usr/bin/Xorg (0x400000+0x2af82) [0x42af82] [ 1511.080] 9: /usr/bin/Xorg (0x400000+0x2153a) [0x42153a] [ 1511.081] 10: /lib64/libc.so.6 (__libc_start_main+0xfd) [0x32b9a1ee7d] [ 1511.087] 11: /usr/bin/Xorg (0x400000+0x21009) [0x421009] [ 1511.087] Segmentation fault at address 0x28 [ 1511.087] Fatal server error: [ 1511.087] Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault).
