As I mentioned a corresponding kernel bug was reported in December of 2009 but I did not hear anything about it since. OTOH in F12 i915 driver was in such state that worries about suspend were very far on my list. It is surely in a better shape in F13 and I was able, in pm-utils, to restore a functionality lost after an upgrade from F10 to F12.
