Since it's the beginning of the workweek, my brain is once again mush, but I may be ambitious again next weekend and try some of these suggested variations, including the grubby work-in-progress. I rather suspect that I will end up with some officially-supported config, but with /home, /data, and /archive all as btrfs subvols so that I can re-install from scratch some future Fedora that does fully support this and easily restore those subvols into it. I'd ride it out to a fully-supported version but my Ubuntu 12.10 (desperately clinging to Gnome2!) is getting rather long in the tooth.
