Oh! Is that what this graphic on the F7 is for - to turn it on and off. I didn't understand when you said "switch"; at the time I was looking for a physical switch as opposed to a key on the keyboard. Looking at the direction-guide doesn't quite work so well when i'm sort of panicked, but now that I'm more relaxed I see that it describes this disable switch.
