Yes, but that removes the feature system-wide. Instead, what I propose is a way to continue having those notifications, but be able to run Shotwell when needed, or "escape" (do nothing, open folder) when one so wishes. IE I might insert a pen drive (or SD card) to copy some files to it, not necessarily to index the pictures that might be available on the media.

Yet, in other instances, i MIGHT want to run shotwell. Switching the global settings for removable storage back and forth doesn' t strike me as a very sensible proposition...
