Folks, The original attempt to install using the F16 beta failed because of a hardware error on the DVD drive. The LiveCD install appeared to proceed fine, but stalled attempting at the BIOS-related setup. I replaced the DVD drive, and tried the DVD install again. This time, I merely turned off LVM, and said I wanted to review the partition layout. Once Anaconda assigned the initial layout with the entire free space, I removed the new / and /home partitions and specified a new 200 GB / partition instead. That worked fine, and gives me space for other installs on this disk. If I have time this weekend, I'm going to try reinstalling F15 over the F16 beta (so I have grub 1 dual boot again), and then retry the F16 beta LiveCD install scenario with custom partitioning, and then the same review and fix route.
