Renaming of fuse-encfs and fuse-sshfs to encfs and sshfs respectively.

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello all!
I've talked with Szakacsits Szabolcs (author and maintainer of
ntfs-3g, fuse filesystem for reading NTFS partitions) about these two
packages names, and he strongly argues that it would be more
convenient to name them simply as they are called in upstream. It's
obvious, that people will simply type

# yum install encfs

then they want to install encfs, not

# yum install fuse-encfs

So we (with current naming scheme) just create another difficulty to
Average Joe then he will try to install FC.

That's why I (personally as current package maintainer) vote for
renaming of these two packages.

Any objections?
