Hi Fedora gamers, I've been packaging TA Spring recently, it's a clone of the famous game Total Anihilation, by Cavedog Entertainment (RIP). For those who don't know it, Total Anihilation was a great realtime strategy game, pretty impressive at the time (1997). See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_Annihilation for more info. It's still under heavy development, but the Linux port begins to be playable. I don't know if I have sufficient interest in this game to maintain it further on, but since it was not listed on the Games wiki page, you might be interested in the spec files. You'll find them here: http://gauret.free.fr/fichiers/rpms/fedora/taspring-0.72-0.1.b1.src.rpm http://gauret.free.fr/fichiers/rpms/fedora/taspring.spec http://gauret.free.fr/fichiers/rpms/fedora/taspring-data-0.72-0.1.b1.src.rpm http://gauret.free.fr/fichiers/rpms/fedora/taspring-data.spec You'll also need: http://gauret.free.fr/fichiers/rpms/fedora/glew-1.3.4-1.src.rpm http://gauret.free.fr/fichiers/rpms/fedora/glew.spec There are still some areas to improve on : for example the game expects two dirs to be writable. Since I'm not good enough at C++ programming to patch it, I've symlinked those dirs to /var/games/taspring and set them 1777. Of course the best solution would be to have the game create subdirectories based on the user name, or even better look for them in ~/.taspring, but I have no idea how to patch that. If you are interested, feel free to grab my spec files, fix them, and submit them to Extras. It's a nice game, but in early stages of development... I hope you'll like it.
