If the application and the libraries it depends upon are implemented
properly, there there even isn't a need to do so.

Then, just tar'ing the apps and their run-time libs should work pretty
smoothly.

If you want to do it in perfectionistic clean way, package them into
rpms (This is what I occasionally do).
