It wasn't about removing "bugs". It was about the fact that it was fundamentally the wrong sort of place to put such a question. People's opinions of partitioning vs packaging vs how to install the bootloader, as it turns out, aren't heavily tied together. So rather than try to give an option to preset multiple later options (as well as hide some of them), it's better to just make the later options more accessible. Which is what we've attempted to do.
