I have asked several times what leads to the expectation that a package

Yes. Again, someone would have to do the work. Who's volunteering to
start?
The zope maintainer? AFAIK no one has asked him if he would be willing to try
this, instead it he has been forbidden to even try. Bad leadership if you ask me.
