I have no idea. I don’t believe the Fedora package has any technical
defects in practice. In this case, I was willing to follow upstream’s
request without further investigation into their motives, and I’m not
drawing any broader conclusions. In fact, I still maintain Fedora
packages for a few other programs that are distributed in the
ElementaryOS AppCenter but developed by different people.
