#3244 Change: Retire Python 2.7

This is going to break the build of a whole bunch of compatibility packages,
which will in turn break a lot of software in Fedora.
Do you expect packages to do what Qt5WebEngine did for EPEL and bundle their
own copy of Python 2 to be used at build time? This just does not make any
sense whatsoever.
For Qt5WebEngine, there is now a patch from Arch Linux to make it build with
Python 3 that we could apply, but both the Qt 4 and 5 QtWebKit require
Python 2 to build. As do several other packages, I am pretty sure.
We have needinfo'ed all the maintainers of the remaining dependent packages
except Qt5WebEngine which does not have a bugzilla. Glad that it has a patch
for Qt5WebEngine available. Please use it.
We got no replies for months (years even). I am not going to block the removal
of Python 2 on a handful of packages who's maintainers don't bother communicating.
See the list at
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/RetirePython2.7#Dependent_packages
Also, you had the opportunity to discuss this change before it was approved by
FESCo, so I am going to interpret this as rant rather than constructive feedback.
As explained in
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/RetirePython2.7#Benefit_to_Fedora if you
wish to maintain Python 2 beyond Fedora 41, you can talk to us and demonstrate
the ability and will to take care of Python 2 by joining the maintenance early.
