In Suse 9.3 only real-player is able to play MP3 -- you have to hunt for MP3-Support in other Apps (totem, KDE,...) there, too. (Yes, I know, they provide it on their own website -- but installing it is not more complicated than "rpm -ivh livna-release-1.2.3.rpm" and "yum install xmms-mp3 xine mplayer" [or similar commands for other Repos]).
