Yeah, and the older implementation in Debian builds and runs fine even on architectures that have more letters in their abbreviated names than users: https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=pkg-config
I mean, if it can run on a Motorola CPU, I'm pretty sure it can run anywhere :-)
