I made a test build of kicad, and it works perfectly using your

I hope that an official package can be added to rawhide when wxPython 4.1.2
is released by upstream.
Thanks for testing and glad to hear! kicad uses wxWidgets directly also,
and would need to move to wxGTK in lockstep with wxPython 4.1.x, correct?
