It was just an example of telemetry usage.

Appetite comes with eating. More and more telemetry will be introduced over time. We will open Pandora's box.
The problems with this is that we are taking a fairly fuzzy data set and making it much easier to track individual users in ways seen as problematic by various laws and regulations.
GDPR is the best thing that has happened to the industry. I love it.
There are useful points in getting telemetry data of this sort. We could know better that we have a 60% population of v2 systems or that 90% of our arm systems are not system ready but raspberry pi's. That would allow for engineering to focus its resources on things which the consumers of the OS need versus what a 'vocal population' want.
And will also spy on users, violating their freedom. -- Sincerely, Vitaly Zaitsev (vitaly@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx) _______________________________________________ devel mailing list -- devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send an email to devel-leave@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Do not reply to spam on the list, report it: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure
