Yes, many of us maintain projects on GitHub and/or GitLab due to a variety of reasons, but if any of them die tomorrow, I simply change the "upstream" in my clones and keep going. If Fedora starts using GitLab EE for its dist-git, for example, and GitLab dies tomorrow, then we have a very big problem.
