Historically, the SIGs were just bunch of people who typically signed up on Wiki: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/Java#Members More modern approach is to use FAS groups: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/Python#Python_SIG_FAS_group https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/Ruby#Members There might or might not be advantages to this. Depending on the SIG organization, it might give you access to all the packages maintained by the specific SIG.
