I'd like to add that you (Theodore) should not feel "intimidated" by the process outlined on the wiki pages (at least that might be my feeling if I were trying to become a packager today).

Most people here are really friendly and from my experience it is often best to contact possible sponsors directly. Some weeks ago some sponsors even mentioned on this list that they don't get many requests and they actually like sponsoring people.

Just reach out (also sending direct messages) and don't wait too long for anyone to contact you.
