Unannounced library bump: thrift 0.10.0 -> 0.13.0

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi everybody,

The "thrift" package was updated in rawhide and changed the name of
its library (which is oddly versioned anyway, and the "main" package
ships *.so files ???)

At least gnuradio needs to be rebuilt for the new version (if it
supports the new library version? it's not a simple SONAME bump, since
the libraries aren't versioned).

Also the perl-thrift sub-package of thrift seems to be broken and
isn't even installable with the new version:

Error:
 Problem: conflicting requests
  - nothing provides perl(Thrift::Exception) needed by
perl-thrift-0.13.0-1.fc32.noarch
  - nothing provides perl(Thrift::MessageType) needed by
perl-thrift-0.13.0-1.fc32.noarch
  - nothing provides perl(Thrift::Type) needed by
perl-thrift-0.13.0-1.fc32.noarch

Fabio

PS: Watch https://pagure.io/fedora-health-check for more enlightening
breakages like this. :D
If you want to get notified when one of your packages breaks, I can
set up an opt-in notification system.
