Unlike a non-threaded view of the same discussion, which becomes 
completely impossible to follow (to say nothing about actual 
contributions) at a far earlier point.

Tools that work well at low levels of complexity fail pretty 
spectacularly as the complexity (or sheer quantity) scales up.

(For example, if you want to get to the roof of a single-storey home, 
 you use a ladder.  A bigger building?  A bigger ladder.  But that's not 
 going to work for a ten-storey building, much less a skyscraper...)
