I don't think it's fair for one person to decide what the "right thing to do"
is. This kind of thinking is what leads to things like GNOME's awful defaults.
I was just answering someone who said that this never happens and is not
important. I didn't mean to sound like I am deciding anything---as you
say, demanding changes is only valid when one provides patches to
implement them. In this case they may be tricky: Windows didn't
implement them either, until recently. BTW, do you disagree on this
specific issue, or just make a general point that people should not pass
judgment on what's right or not?
