You still have OpenJ9 vs OpenJDK, LTS vs non LTS, completely free software build vs supported proprietary build (Fedora does not ship the later but some Fedora derivatives do and there is a wish for them to be able to do it without butchering the Fedora-inherited filesystem layout). So yes, it is probably possible for someone motivated to invent a better java alternative setup, but it will be a lot of work, with a lot of constrains (one of those, being able to upgrade existing setups to the new system gracefully) -- Nicolas Mailhot _______________________________________________ devel mailing list -- devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send an email to devel-leave@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Fedora Code of Conduct: https://getfedora.org/code-of-conduct.html List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
