I concur. This is effectively what I was trying to express with respect to the distinctions.

Rings and modules should go away indeed, but spins should not! We have had
spins since Fedora 7! They are part of the success story of Fedora.

What should be dropped, though, is the artificial distinction between
"editions" and "spins". Everything should be an equally-featured spin, and
the GNOME spin should be called GNOME spin.
