Related thread when I discovered this issue a couple months ago, and posted to desktop@ I think the top two memory soaking items are the two gnome-shell instances, one for gdm and one for the user, concurrently. And the lack of zram.service being enabled on liveOS installations, where DVD and netinstall installs have it enabled. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1562278 Using boot param 'systemd.wants=zram' solves most instances for me, but definitely the memory requirements need to be bumped. I don't think Workstation is going to work in a 1G RAM VM.
