optimization set to O0. This type of thing also occurred in firefox
when the latest C++ was released, as it made some things commonly used
in earlier versions errors.
Yes, firefox code was buggy, it plays lots of nasty undefined tricks.
"It worked OK until now" doesn't mean something isn't a bug if you're
not following the rules of the language.
