Personally I try to keep my package spec files buildable as is on
Fedora, CentOS and for SCL (DTS devtoolset). To me this is really
useful because it means I can easily provide the latest and greatest
features of my package once fixes hit Fedora rawhide. You can then just
automatically provide them to users through copr for older Fedora/CentOS.
By having some small SCL macros you can then also provide them as
part of a software collection. If newer rpm spec features would be
backported (or maybe provided as SCL?) on CentOS 6 and 7 then I would
certainly use them.
