The NM list doesn't have much on this (and mostly from me - I'm on the list). As far as I'm aware, the problem is that hal doesn't recognise the capabilites of the PCMCIA card. It should have an entry something like: info.cababilities string net.80211 net but it doesn't list any info.capabilities.
