This is on the Details panel of System Settings. You're expected to type a "pretty" hostnames with spaces and caps. You'll end up with something like [michael@victory-road ~]$ hostnamectl Static hostname: victory-road Pretty hostname: Victory Road It doesn't magically become fully qualified.
