The most interesting parts of the presentation IMHO are :

1. the acknowledgement that sometimes, you really need operators such as
AND and OR to express some constrains cleanly

2. the acknowledgement some provides want to be in list/tuple form (and
the package management should be able to identify the correct package when
the user requests an element in this list)

But the solutions presented for those needs are more hacks and prototypes
than definitive answers.


I think they solved the dependency solving, which is IMO the hardest part, in libsolv and they are missing support for appropriate metadata in RPM. That is why it looks so hacky.
