This is not really fine - systemd should do one thing and do it well ... when it starts to bleed off and try do too many things (with little to zero rationale or benefit) then the chances of things going wrong increase. Just because something 'can' do something does not make it a sensible design. Since systemd is running daemon it could take over any daemon - it could even do everything pulse does :-) Hell any rooted capable daemon process can do the same - autofs could just as easily start other services for that matter ... doesn't make it a good design.
