The individual spins groups decide that for their spins. Some of them
seem to think targeting CDs is important. I don't know the specific reasons
as I am not in any of those groups. (I do handle the Games Spin, but that
targets 4 GiB.)

If you want to change their minds, you should consider participating in
the relavent groups.

As for supporting larger possible spin sizes, I am all for that. That's
why I pushed for UDF and LZMA support for livecd-tools.
