Convert apps over to libcanberra. You can't remove it. That would break the API, something that GNOME will not do. Again... Porting apps to libcanberra is the right thing to do. Convert every single one you find. But, gnome_sound_play is in the platform until GNOME-3.0 comes along and API can be broken.
