I wish keyboards had a generic symbol on the Overview key, rather than
literally the trademarked Microsoft logo. Because that's the obvious thing
to put there.
I like the one highlighted, because it's aesthetically pleasing to me, and it indicates that not all groups (or windows) are alike/uniform. If such an icon was in front of Activities, I think it would convey the "windows" meaning quite well. And the color of one of the blocks (you can imagine it's the currently focused window) would make the button stand out (and we could switch to an uncolored icon once there is at least one window present on the current workspace, i.e. the color would only draw your attention when you have no apps/windows started, gently hinting "press me...") ;-)
